Digestive System WebQuest

By completing this webquest you will be able to study in more detail the organs of the digestive system in preparation for the test.  There will be some diagrams included on the test that you will only have access to from this webquest.

1. Students will be able to identify the specific parts of the organs within the digestive system.
2. Students will observe the movement of food through the digestive tract.
3. Students will organize the parts of the digestive system in order.
4. Students will practice taking quizzes in order to learn the structures and functions within the digestive system.
5. Students will discover the reasons for the bizarre and gross sounds that occur in the digestive system.

Computer access to the internet.

Your Task:

• Open to locate overview of  digestive system organs. Highlight each part to see its location on the GI tract.  View the diagrams of the stomach & small intestine for a more detailed look.

• Open the Virtual Body Tour on the digestive system.
      Click on English or Spanish.
      Click on Digestive Tract.
      Begin by taking the Guided Tour.
      Click on the Zoom-In and move down through the system reading the notes.
      Complete the Organize Organs activity.

• Open the links to digestive system structures and move the mouse on the black-yellow-red-green marks on the diagram to learn the parts.

• Learn about belches and farts, gurgling stomach noises, vomit and what makes up feces.

• Play the Constipation Concentratation Game from the Ontario Science Center. (Kind of a "sick" sounding game but very informative.)
